"Mixing Is A Holistic Experience" :: Shane D. Wilson

February 4, 2021 Dewey Boyd

Do you start your mixes with the kick drum?

Shane doesn’t. He’s interested in the whole picture and having a whole body experience.

Even though I'm not a producer I'm not a player, you know, music is sort of this holistic experience. You know it's a whole body kind of a thing. So I'm gonna, I want to push everything up if it's not already, and sometimes if i get just the waves, I'll even import a step-one from a similar thing that I've done for somebody else, levels and all, just so there's a board mix straight away, so that I'm just kind of, I'm hearing what you did as opposed to the individual elements of what you did. I'm really more interested in the whole body than just the eyelashes or or whatever.
